As part of BOFA’s 30th birthday celebrations, Bournemouth & Poole College will benefit from a world-class fume extraction cabinet donated to staff and students by the Poole-based manufacturer.
BOFA recently presented a FumeCAB 1000 iQ to the college’s Health and Medical Science department. It will be installed in one of the college’s new labs and will be used primarily for Organic Chemistry. This will allow students to gain a broader experience during practical classes.
The FumeCAB 1000 iQ is an integrated filtration system designed to ensure compliance with the latest regulations. It incorporates BOFA’s award winning Intelligent Operating (iQ) System to ensure the highest level of safety and performance. Last month BOFA received the Queen’s Award for Enterprise for Innovation, in recognition of the revolutionary Intelligent (iQ) Operating System, featured in the FumeCAB 1000 iQ.
BOFA MD Tony Lockwood presented the unit to the college and said;
As a Dorset-based manufacturer, we are pleased to support Bournemouth & Poole College. This year sees us celebrating 30 years of manufacturing and it is a great opportunity to engage with the local community and meet our future engineers!
Director of Applied Science and Care Louise Garner said;
BOFA has presented us with a fantastic opportunity to enhance the learning environment for our students with this state of the art equipment. We pride ourselves on preparing students for their future careers, and this generous donation will give them a leading edge into the world of work by allowing them to practice experiments using the latest technologies.
