BOFA International was among world-leading technology companies representing Dorset when the Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) hosted the Department for International Trade’s advanced engineering and manufacturing team.
The two-day visit, supported by Invest in Dorset, enabled Poole-based BOFA to showcase the global reach of its fume and dust extraction innovations, and to highlight the credentials that attracted foreign-based investment in the business.
Led by Janice Whittington, Head of Sector – Advanced Engineering and Manufacturing, Department for International Trade Investment Services, and Terry Mankertz, Director for Sector Advisory Services (SAS), the 14-strong team visited a number of technology leaders to hear about Dorset’s growing success in advanced engineering and manufacturing, some key current projects and opportunities for inward investment.
“We were extremely proud to have been included in the advanced manufacturing showcase to the DIT,” said Geoff Sagar, Business Development Manager for BOFA and Invest In Dorset Ambassador.
“As a multiple Queen’s Award winner, BOFA has been flying the flag for British manufacturing for over 30 years and it’s great to see how technological innovation rooted in Dorset is thriving not just in our own business but among our peers. We are also very pleased that the information gained during the visit will be disseminated around the world via embassies and trade missions.”
The event, hosted at RNLI College in Poole, included presentations from the DIT, BCP Council, Dorset Council and Atlas Electronik UK promoting Dorset’s capabilities in a sector worth £1.4 billion to the local economy.
